According to an order issued here, five million rupees have been earmarked to provide "Qarz-e-Hasna" to 100 motorcycle rickshaw-loaders as substitute means of earning livelihood.
Referring to the special efforts made by the Punjab Governor Khalid Maqbool and District Nazim Chaudhry Zahid, DDO (Co-ordination) Naseem Sadiq said that application forms and instructions could be obtained from SME Bank or the DCO Office.
For this purpose a "special counter" had been set up in the DCO Office, while the SME Bank had announced more concession in expenses involved and had simplified the procedure, he said.
He said that it had been decided in a special meeting that by taking prompt action on the application forms, motorcycle rickshaw loaders would be provided loans within seven days after submitting their applications.
In the light of this decision, the traffic police had chalked out a special plan for implementing the order, he said.
Lauding the people-friendly step of the District Nazim, people have expressed the hope that the ban will not only solve the traffic problem of Faisalabad, but also would also create employment opportunities and help lessen the pollution problem.
